This is an old home of Deoklin Cho (1658~1737; pen name-Okcheon; family clan-Hanyang Cho). It is a typical example of the yangban (ruling class of the Joseon Dynasty) housing style, comprising Jeongchim (main building), Chodang (annex building) for reading, and Sadang (family shrine). The Jeongchim has a square-shaped layout ('ㅁ'), which was typical around Andong area. The front gate was located in the center among the front five rooms and living quarters for women were located to the left.
