The flagpole supports, or the Danggan-Jiju at Guhwang-dong is presumed to be made during the era of Unified Silla, and from the base with the shape of turtle head between the two granite pillars, it was presumably to be installed at the Bunhwangsa Temple. Dang-gan refers flagpole, usually made or wood, iron, or stone, to hang the flags called Dang (幢) or Beon (幡) to signal important Bhddhistic events at the long distances; and the Danggan-Jiju is made of two stone pillars to support the Danggan.
