Gosanjeong is a pavilion dedicated to Nan-su Geum (pen name: Seongseongjae; 1530∼1599 ) who served as Suseongjang (general of defense forces) for Andong during the Japanese Invasions in 1597 and was appointed as vice secretary. According to documents, he built this pavilion in Gasonggyeop, one of scenic sites in the Seonseong-hyeon area in 1564 (19th year of King Myeongjong) at the age of 35 and lived in peace while studying scriptures. The pavilion is located below cliffs of Gasonghyeop, one of eight scenic sites in Andong.
