If you follow national highway No. 31 from Homigot to a winding Guryongpo road alongside an eastern coast, you will encounter a lighthouse in a wild sea wind of the East Sea, rice paddies and fields cultivated on a steep mountainside, fishing nets hanging out, and an aspect of the lives of people, who earn a livelihood in this area and lead a somewhat rough existence. Just when you feel tired of a blue sea and a blue sky, you will encounter a youth training center that is an entrance to Haebongsa Temple. This time, following the road that leads to the youth training center and winding alongside a reservoir usher to a seemingly desolate path. A narrow road of the village takes you to a temple located on a flat place in an open valley. Haebongsa Temple, situated at the foot of Mt. Myeongwolsan, is a traditional temple of Korean Buddhism by Boebhwa Order.
