The Bulguksa Temple(불국사) was founded more than 1,044 years ago, in the 22nd year by the reign of King Beupheung of Silla, in the middle of the Tohamsan Mountain, the mountain that 'breathes in and out the clouds.' The temple was built as per request of the King's mother, to wish the prosperity and safety of Silla and its common people. Later, the temple was renovated during the reign of King Gyeongdeok (742~764) by prime minister of the era, Kim Dae-sung.
